Waves on the Turquoise Lake: Bringing Contemporary Tibetan Art to Colorado

This event is open to all AAA members as well as a guest.
This presentation will explore the 2006 internationally ground-breaking CU Art Museum exhibition "Waves on the Turquoise Lake: Contemporary Expression of Tibetan Art", organized in partnership with the Mechak Center for Contemporary Tibetan Art. The exhibition featured contemporary Tibetan artists working in Tibet, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Australia, and the United States (including Denver and Boulder). It was the first major museum exhibition to bring together contemporary artists working both inside and outside of Tibet. The lecture will also provide highlights of the work produced by the artists since the 2006 exhibition.
